Just one more

Okay, I lied. THIS will be my last entry before I leave for NY.  Since I won't be able to do my usual Wednesday Weigh-In tomorrow, I figured I'd do it today (a day early). Good results!

Lost 2 pounds this week

27.25  (Down 1/2 inch this week)

Body fat is 24.2%, down 0.8% from last week
Not bad for 6 days of NOT counting calories! I'm still going strong.  Yesterday was no exception--which is big news, because Halloween is my biggest temptation of the year. For some strange reason, the candy wasn't tempting me yesterday (I know, what the hell is wrong with me?!)  So I chose to utilize my "rule of two" on a small piece of Mark's birthday cake and a scoop of ice cream.

The cake was just a boxed cake with canned frosting, but I LOVE that kind :)  Mark was thrilled to be celebrating his birthday, and (as always) very grateful for the gifts he received (a new coat, a warm hat, and a fishing hat). Here he is in his fishing hat:

My mom made chili in the slow cooker for dinner, so I had a small portion of that with cheese, onions, and sour cream. I took a piece of corn bread and a few crackers with artichoke dip too, but I didn't really like them after trying them, so I didn't eat them. I KNOW--what the hell is going on with me?  Then we set up the driveway for the trick-or-treaters:

Jerry took my kids out to trick-or-treat, but there weren't very many houses participating this year :(  They still came back with a lot of candy. (When he went home from my parents house, our next door neighbors said they only got a couple of kids, so they had a ton of leftover candy. They gave each of my kids a big bag of it!)

My dad put copper wire in the fire to make it colorful

My dad's costume took a beating--that's Jerry in there
Jerry played a good Spongebob. He was dancing and singing, and all kinds of kids went up to him and gave him hugs. I think he even scared a couple of small kids, haha.

Anyway, it was a fun Halloween, and thankfully, not TOO cold. I was up at 4:00 this morning and unable to sleep because of nerves for today (and mostly tomorrow, of course)!

  1. YAY! I just happened to look and see you wrote again! Congratulations on the weight loss! Fantastic! I had 2 pieces of candy myself yesterday. I think we finally get that it takes SO MUCH EFFORT to burn those calories that it's just not worth it (for the majority of the time, anyway!). Halloween is the gateway to the holiday eating extravaganza, so if you have good control at this time it'll help carry you through to the new year.

Have a great time in NYC. Will you venture out on your own?

  5. Have a great trip! And congrats on sticking with the binge-free lifestyle -- something I still struggle with, but I also didn't do too much damage last night. Live and learn hey? :)

  7. Way to go Katie! 2 pounds down.

I also had a candy free Halloween and feel great about it. Ultimately it feels so much better to forego the short term gratification, doesn't it? If I could just remember that lesson....

    :)

  10. Congratulations on the 2 lbs! Thought about you today and your trip...hope it was a wonderful experience. I had to laugh...I don't have kids, so I was reading what you said about the Halloween candy, thinking that it would not be an issue for me, but at WORK we were given trick or treat bags yesterday, LOL! But I was good...looked up the calorie counts for each thing and am only going to have one thing a day, but I should be fine because I have a small amount of M&Ms (PB) or Reese's Pieces every night, anyway. And guess what two of those things in the bag WERE? That's right, mini bags of PB M&Ms and Reeses Pieces, LOL!

  11. Love all of the costumes! Katie you are ROCKIN the scale!!! I'm going to miss you when you are in NY!!! So, I had no idea you could put copper wire in a fire and it makes it colorful, that's awesome! What is that Tattoo of on your toe? I was thinking about getting a tattoo of a toe ring eventually just for fun :) I just put it off because the BIG ASS tat on my right foot (idk if you've ever noticed it) hurt sooooo bad I actually cried!

I used to publish ALL comments (even the mean ones) but I recently chose not to publish those. I always welcome constructive comments/criticism, but there is no need for unnecessary rudeness/hate. But please--I love reading what you have to say! (This comment form is super finicky, so I apologize if you're unable to comment)
