Just a weigh-in

I will write a "real" post later, but I did my Wednesday Weigh-In this morning and I'm excited to change my stats, so I decided to post this now :)
Down 1.5 pounds since last week

(Obviously, I still need a pedicure!  Oh, and someone asked me about the tattoo--just a stupid ladybug I got when I was 18).

Body fat down 0.3% since last week
I'm VERY happy with my weigh-in today!! At 134.5, I'm only 1.5 pounds away from my GOAL WEIGHT. I've never in my life actually reached my goal weight; when I reached my lowest-ever weight of 128, my goal (at the time) was 126. So I was two pounds shy of goal when I gained some back. Since I reset my goal to 133, I'm now just 1.5 pounds away from actually REACHING GOAL.

It's possible that I could reach goal next Wednesday! That's so strange to me--but I'm excited. I want to think of some way to celebrate reaching goal. I know that I've been at this weight before, but like I said, it wasn't "goal" at the time, so I didn't feel like it was a success. Maybe that sounds dumb. But reaching goal weight is something that I've wanted to achieve since I was about 10 years old!

Can you think of any (inexpensive) ways for me to celebrate when I do reach goal?

  2. I am SO excited to see your weight loss week after week, now if I could just do that. Must be very satisfying to be able to lose weight while eating intuitively (or whatever you're choosing to call it), instead of obsessing over every calorie or point. I'm trying to do that too, but too often I'm sticking a little bit of this or that in my mouth. I keep thinking when this stuff is all gone, I won't have that snacking problem, but then I buy more. I also think to myself I'll be okay, if after I have a BAD day, I have a GOOD day, cause that'll mean, I haven't yet fallen off the deep end. I'm hovering right around 145 lbs. for a few weeks now--that's okay--as long as I don't edge any closer to 150!

Let's see--a reward for hitting goal--I always like new clothes. Especially now with that spectacular new body and your ability to wear just about any style you want, I think a new outfit is definitely in order. Or maybe a new hairstyle/cut/color? (Although I LOVE your beautiful thick long dark hair--I'm so jealous!) Perhaps a mani/pedi? Or you could get some book you've been wanting to read, or DVD you've wanted to see. Perhaps a new crocheting/knitting project from the craft store? You definitely need some kind of treat, because reaching goal is HUGE! Few people ever actually get to a weight loss goal, I NEVER did before this last time, and that's why I think THIS TIME is different. That I won't gain it all back. At least that's what I'm hoping! As of tomorrow, I'll be at eight months maintaining. We're doing it!

  3. I'm so happy to see that you are only 1.5 lbs away from your goal weight!! What an amazing journey you have been on so far!

As for inexpensive rewards, I've had to think of some for myself in the past. Since it seems like we both have some very supportive husbands, I might suggest an at-home "spa night" just for you! Get a sitter for the kids and if you like backrubs, maybe your husband would be up to pampering you with one?

OR, you could throw a party to celebrate! You have that wine club that you're in, maybe host it and share your weight-loss story and success with your friends! I'm sure they would all be happy to help celebrate with you while learning some tips from somebody who has reached their goal weight!

  4. Get yourself that pedicure you keep talking about! Beauty schools often offer them for super cheap! I used to get them for like $12 at a local beauty school.

  5. So happy for you! As for a reward, I can't really help. I have yet to really reward myself for the weight I've lost. New clothes when I could afford it was always good just cause I looked fumpy otherwise. A pedicure would be good since you keep mentioning it or maybe something fitness related? Like a new DVD or item? I love getting new workout things :)

  6. Wow! Congrats Katie! You must be so excited. I say get dressed up and go out dancing with your buds even if you can only shuffle -- with your recovery and all. Celebrate your body and all you've accomplished! :)

  7. I say go for a mini spa day, pedicure, facial and shoulder massage.

Or if you're going to be doing some entertaining for the holiday, treat yourself to a maid service for the day and DON'T clean before they come over. :)

  9. Congrats on the loss!! Woot!

You must celebrate your goal with a pedicure! Seems to be the popular opinion!!

Have your goal weight airbrushed on your big toe haha LOL!

  10. You said inexpensive, but I just thought of an expensive one- a NEW TATTOO! You keep complaining about your ladybug... I REALLY want one but my husband prefers I not get one. We'll see...

  11. I'm so so happy for you! I've been reading your blog for a while, but this is my first comment. I would agree that you have to get that pedi, girl! It also might be cool to make yourself a scrapbook--I know that the blog serves as one, but maybe some hard copies of your progress pics in an album for you to have for yourself to recognize all of the amazing things that you've accomplished. And maybe a trophy with the engraving, "I am awesome!" Because you are!!

  14. Way to go Katie! I'm not good at thinking of cheap rewards, but maybe just a day off to do whatever you want - no cleaning, meal prep etc.

  15. Congrats on being so close to your goal! That's fantastic.

I totally never realized that was a tattoo. I thought it was a birthmark. Maybe I need a new computer...LOL!

  16. Woo Hoo!!! That goal is so close you can smell it!! Love the pedicure idea, but also love the idea of treating yourself to a fun lipstick and call it "goal shade!"

  17. Pedicure for the goal!!!! You are so close! Even just a new nail polish color would be an inexpensive treat!

I used to publish ALL comments (even the mean ones) but I recently chose not to publish those. I always welcome constructive comments/criticism, but there is no need for unnecessary rudeness/hate. But please--I love reading what you have to say! (This comment form is super finicky, so I apologize if you're unable to comment)
