I had plans of running 7 miles this morning while the kids were at church with my parents. My parents decided to go to the later service (11:00) instead of the 8:30 service. So when I finally got to run, it was 90 degrees outside, and SO HUMID it felt like I was running in a sauna. I went to the State Park and decided I'd try and tough it out. About 2 miles in, I decided that I was going to call it quits after 3 miles. Lately, I've been trying to focus on running for pleasure, and running in 90 degree heat was NOT pleasurable!
When I got home, I did an extra mile on the dreadmill in 8:48, for a total of 4 miles in 38:46.
My hand is still killing me from yesterday's incident. I'm feeling kind of bummed that I had to spend (unplanned) money on something so stupid, too-- co-pay at the doctor ($20), co-pay for antibiotic ($10), tube of ointment ($5). It always seems like as soon as we make the decision to save money and quit spending, something comes up and we blow our budget.
these bars from OhSheGlows. They are SO GOOD. I've made them 3 times before, and all 3 times, I binged on them the first day. So making them this time was kind of a test for me--my goal was to not binge on them. And I haven't! I've eaten two of them--one for breakfast both yesterday and today. I added craisins, raisins, dried cherries, walnuts, and a nut-free trail mix (made with pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chocolate chips, dried apple bits, and some other stuff). I used an 8x8 pan, and cut it into 8 bars. You could probably cut them in half to get 16 if you're eating them for a snack, but I wanted something heartier that I could have for breakfast.
I'm not feeling well today--just really run down and TIRED. I wonder if that tetanus shot has something to do with it? Anyway, I was hoping to just lounge in some sweats on the couch tonight, but Eli went to my mom's house and Noah said, "Mama, I want to do something special with you." So how could I say no?! He wanted to go on a "long" bike ride, something that we can't do with Eli (Eli is ready to be done at about 2.5 miles). I changed out of my sweats and we went for a 4 mile ride. It was actually pretty nice, and I'm glad we did that. We got to go a little faster than we do with Eli, too--it took us 40 minutes.
Now I'm really exhausted and I just want to relax and watch TV!
