So last night before bed, I was thinking about how it would be dumb to get up at 4:00 to run before the kids woke up. Just as I thought that, Jerry had to go and say, "There's no way you'll be able to get up at 4:00 when I wake up!" If Jerry hadn't said that, I would have slept until 7:00, I'm sure of it.
The alarm went off at 4:00 for Jerry to get up for work, and I so badly wanted to go right back to sleep like I usually do, but I was determined to show Jerry that I can too get up at the same time as he does. I crawled out of bed at 4:05, and got my running clothes on.
I wasn't sure how far I was going to run. Usually, Fridays are my long runs, and I like to do 8-13 miles. But the virtual 5K last Friday kind of screwed up my schedule, and I ran 12 on Tuesday this week. So I figured I would just run a little longer than my mid-week runs, and call it a day.
I turned on Breaking Bad--that show just keeps getting better and better!--and started season two. I set the speed and incline, and just left it there for 6 miles, then called it quits.
I was only a tiny little bit into the second episode, and I really wanted to keep watching it, so I amended my rule of only watching it while running on the treadmill--I just had to finish the episode!
I took a shower, dressed, and did my hair, then plopped into the recliner. It was only 5:20, so I had gotten up SO early for no reason! I chose 4:00 thinking that I was going to run for much longer. I've been doing an online course (I'll explain more about it later, it's for a review), so I was reading the manual for that, and I kept nodding off. That never happens to me! But I was just really tired.
After I got the kids off to school, I kept reading the manual until it was time to go to lunch at La Pita. I met Renee at Kroger, and then she drove to Dearborn. She gave me my birthday gift in the car--a cute tote by Thirty-One:
I should have taken a better picture, because that one is so dark, but the bag is really cute. Anyway, it never even occurred to me the significance of it being a Thirty-One bag!! After lunch, Jessica mentioned it, and then I put two and two together (I'm a little slow)--a Thirty-One bag for my 31st birthday ;)
While it was a cute gift regardless, it made much more sense then! haha
Lunch at La Pita was nothing less than amazing, per usual. Also per usual was my meal (are you sick of this picture yet?):
I will never get sick of La Pita!
I spent the afternoon trying to get caught up on a bunch of stuff that I'm behind on--e-mail, blog reading, crafts I volunteered to make for people (my brother wants me to knit a beard to wear with a winter hat--that's a fun one!), laundry, getting the virtual 5K prizes ready to mail (I hope to get those shipped tomorrow), stuff like that.
I just took this picture of Paolo--isn't he gorgeous?
It's a shame I don't take more pictures of him, considering he's so pretty, but he's really boring. He just sleeps all day long, unless he sees me get out his brush. I've never seen an animal go so crazy to be groomed. He rubs all over me, falls over on the floor and rolls around happy as can be while I brush him.
Chandler likes to be brushed too (he's too fat to groom himself!) but Paolo gets really mad at Chandler when he comes over to me while I've got the brush out, and starts swatting at him.
Cats are so funny--I love their personalities!

Love the bag, SO cute!!! I'm really curious about the online course you're taking. I'm looking into taking some classes online and get excited to hear when someone else is doing it too and what they're taking! Ok, so perhaps I'm a geek...I own it! lol

Such a cute bag! My grandparents got my stepdad one of those hats with a beard as one of his Christmas gifts this year. So funny!
ReplyDeleteMy cat loves to be brushed too! What's even funnier, though, is that our big dog (English Mastiff, so you know, a small horse) hates it, and will sit there and cry the whole time you brush him, while the cat watches with this look of disdain.
ReplyDeleteI had a cat that looked just like Paolo. She lived to be 18. She was a purebred Birman, and very sweet, but couldn't do cat shows because the white on her feet was uneven. I know that Paolo is a rescued cat, but people pay a lot of money for that breed! My cat also had bad teeth, but she HATED to be brushed. I always enjoy pictures of your cats.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I know you brush Paolo's fur, I just added that "teeth" comment because you have mentioned before that Paolo had dental problems :)
ReplyDeletePaolo is handsome! Omg! My cat sleeps all day but I never get tired of how cute she is. Lol. I posted a pic of her this week on my twitter (beccadi). My Abby also loves loves loves to be brushed which is good because she's a long haired Mainecoon.
ReplyDeleteCats, Breaking Bad, and Thirty One Bags - I can relate on all categories today! lol :)
ReplyDeletePaolo is gorgeous! He looks like he knows it too! I have a couple of short hair white cats with that color blue eyes...arent they pretty?! Good for you showing your hubby you could get up!
ReplyDeleteThirty One bags are the BEST!!! Do you know if La Pita is only in your area? We really need one in Memphis, TN!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your cats! They make me miss mine so much, but my husband and son are allergic so i can't have anymore. It was hard finding them new homes, but children come first.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever heard of the Siberian breed? My husband is extremely allergic to cats so I did alot of research and last year he got me a Siberian. He has not had one single allergic reaction to her. Just letting you know that even cat lovers with allergies have options.
DeleteI am actually hosting a Birthday GIVEAWAY right now and Thirty One is providing the mystery gift! I LOVE Thirty One! Happy Birthday, you young thing! =)
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor had a Thirty-One party and I bought the organizer tote to put in a very large satchel purse that has just one big cavern in it that'll suck all my crap up. With the tote inside I can find everything!
ReplyDeleteI'll never get sick of seeing that meal from La Pita! It's my favorite as well! That picture has made me realize I'm well over do for a lunch there :)
ReplyDeleteThe bag is so cute! & is Paolo :)
ReplyDeleteLa Pita looks delish, my kind of food. I'm addicted to hummus atm! I'm not a fan of chickpeas whole, but I love hummus & falafel - good vege options, despite the fact I love meat lol
Breaking Bad is the BEST show!!!! It really DOES get better and better! So good!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove Thirty-One, and love Dearborn ;)
ReplyDeleteI remember when you started to "foster" Paolo but ended up keeping him. At the time I thought you had a little attitude towards him since you didn't want a fourth cat and really wanted to find a home, which was frustrating. Well.... then I "fostered" a cat that my coworker couldn't find a home for (the shelter wouldn't even take her since they had so many!). They had a legitimate reason for not keeping her (the womans live in mother was allergic) so I wasn't annoyed with them not keeping her (because everyone should adopt anything they see like me!!!). If no one took her, they were going to have to drop her off at another shelter an hour away. I felt so bad so I said I would keep her until I could find a home. My coworker was considering taking her but that didn't work. Another 2 people from craigslist didn't work out so here I was with a kitten that was a complete asshole tearing up my toilet paper and doing body drops on my face from my headboard in the middle of the night and I thought... this must be how Katie felt. But now I couldn't imagine her not being with me. Oh, and I starting "fostering" her while my now husband was on a deployment... What a fun welcome home gift! (I'm the crazy cat lady on instragam btw) Sorry for the long post!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Paolo is so pretty! (I hope we don't give the boy a complex!) =)
DeleteI love getting up early with my fiance on tuesdays when I dont work. Most days we get up at 445-5am to go to the gym but them after he heads to work I get to sit on the couch under a blanket drinking coffee and watching the news. I have had to work extra lately but I am so looking forward to this next Tuesday off. Its the best!
