Dill Triscuits

Today marks day three of Weight Watchers, and so far, everything is going well. I'm shocked at how little I can eat for the allotted number of points I'm given! I'm allowed to have 26 PointsPlus daily, but I've had to use a lot of my weekly points just to get by, because I was really hungry. Thankfully, I also earn points for exercise, so I plan on using those, too.

A couple friends on Facebook were talking about the Dill, Sea Salt, and Olive Oil Triscuits, so I decided to buy some and give them a try. Oh WOW, are they ever good! Today I made tuna salad and ate it with the Triscuits for lunch. I love the dill + tuna combo.

I've also made a snack by mixing a little bit of Italian dressing seasoning mix into some cream cheese, then spreading it on the Dill Triscuits, and topping with a cucumber slice. It's a delicious snack!

[Someone recently mentioned that I do "product placement" on my blog, so I just want to be clear that this is not product placement. I bought the Triscuits, really like them, and wanted to share my find. That's all :)  If I am given samples of something to review on the blog, or am paid for a post, I always write that in the post. Otherwise, when I write about products like this, it's just because I like them.]

Jerry's birthday is on Friday--he'll be 32. I went shopping for his presents today, but I obviously can't write what I got him until after he opens them. Jerry is pretty easy to buy for, fortunately. Jerry is off on Thursday, but he's working Friday, so I think we'll celebrate his birthday on Thursday. The kids will have school during the day, so it'll just be me and Jerry--I'm trying to think of something fun we can do that doesn't involve food!

Maybe we'll go for a bike ride in the Metropark like we did for my mom's birthday. Or maybe go to the batting cages (Jerry loves the batting cages). Or maybe we'll even go see a matinee, because we've been wanting to see the new Bourne movie and just haven't had a chance.

Well, I have to cut this short because yesterday's post was waaay too long by the time this post goes live, I will be driving home from doing something that is WAY out of my comfort zone. I spent all day trying to come up with excuses not to go, but I knew I should just do it. Will definitely write about it tomorrow! Hopefully all goes well... ;)

  1. It's amazing how fast those points/calories add up. Way too quickly IMO.

Those tricuits do look really good. I'll have to try then... In a few months. Trying to avoid wheat right now.

  2. Dill triscuits sound amazing!! Happy early bday to Jerry, my DH's bday is tomorrow and we are heading to play at Top Golf :)

  3. Those look delicious! Definitely going to pick them up next time I'm at the store.

I also wanted to let you know you have really inspired me to start my own weight loss journey! I even started a blog to chronicle my weight loss: fitfornursing.blogspot.com

Keep up the great work...you are such an inspiration!

  4. I've been making those cuke "sandwiches" as appetizers for so many years I can't keep track!! I've never used Triscuits tho so maybe I'll give that a try. I usually add a little bit of mayo into the cream cheese to make it a bit creamier and spread it on those little rye cocktail breads-the little square ones that are about 2"x2". I add a little bit of fresh dill on top and for color at Christmas I put a little piece of a diced red pepper on top for color. So good! My kids love it so much but I never remember to just buy it to make at home so thanks for the reminder!

Keep up the good work on WW. I've been on it seriously for about 6 weeks now and am LOVING their new Active Link. The little device that tracks your activity all day..it's really cool and VERY motivational!

  5. Hi Katie!

I've been a reader for a long... long ... time. I just today, had the urge to comment. I admire you every day! I'm on my own weight-loss journey. I started at 265 and I'm down to 224. I've taken up running, similar to you. Thank you for being so open all the time, about successes, and challenges!

  6. I am amazed that someone would comment on "product placement". This is YOUR blog and you can write/post/review/say whatever you like. I am just always shocked how others can be critical. I appreciate you sharing finds of things you try and like - it helps me learn, too! Now I'm not afraid to pick these up at the store and try them! Your knowledge helps so many of us! Thank you for all that you write and share! :)

  7. I love those triscuits!

I totally read "go see a matinee" as MANATEE! And I just thought "man, Jerry is going to have the coolest birthday hanging out with the sea cow!"

  8. Okay, so you don't have Triskaidekaphobia, good news!

    Dill sounds interesting!!

  9. Triscuits my favorite!

Triscuit Dill great combination. Alternative like this for a snack is a cool idea.

    Can't wait

  10. The dip on the crackers sounds good! Instead of cream cheese, you could even mix it with Greek Yogurt instead- less calories, more protein & more protein definitely helps when it comes to WW PointsPlus!

  11. Anything DILL is good in my book. But when I buy boxes of crackers, etc., I have a hard time not bingeing on them. It's such a relief when they're gone, so then I think, "Well why did you buy them in teh first place?" That snack you made with cream cheese and cucumb ers looked yummy!

I am tempted to try Weight Watchers just cause I could eat lots and lots of fruit. But then I think, "Who am I fooling?" There's calories in fruit, how does your body just ignore them?" So let us know how it works for you. Are you O.D.'ing on fruit or taking it easy? Cause I could eat lots of bananas, apples, cherries, grapes, and peaches! Not to mention strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, and oranges!

I'm going to put a guess out there about what you're doing this morning that's out of your comfort zone? Are you public speaking somewhere? I just had to think of something that totally stresses ME out. That does. When I get a call to substitute teach, it scares me to death. It's not really public speaking, but you do have to stand up in front of a group! I do it, and I think I do okay, but my heart is pounding and racing and it is completely out of my comfort zone. I'm hoping that the more I do it, the less stressful it will become. Last time I subbed (last Thursday), a resource teacher taught them their Math lesson. Then she kept popping in and yelling at the kids, like I wasn't doing a good job controlling them. Made me very very nervous, like she was looking over my shoulder. So I hope I don't run into a situation like that again. Good Luck on whatever you did today that was out of your comfort zone. Can't wait to read all about it.

    1. With weight watchers "free" fruit you are only to eat to your satisfaction level, and the account for the free foods
In our daily points...if we had to count them we could get a few more daily points. But they are trying to get people to chose the healthier foods.

No one ever got too heavy by eating too many grapes :) so eat "free" fruit but don't over do it

  12. OMG I need to go find those and try them!

  13. The kids are going to be gone to school... I'd spend all day in bed "celebrating" his birthday! ;) Isn't that what every guy wants for his birthday anyway?! Just trying to help! :)

  14. Hahaha, I never really thought about any of your "product placement." I look at it the same way I look at my friends texting me pictures of new foods they just tried... which we do a lot. :-)

  15. mmmmm those crackers look like the best flavour ever!

  16. Oh! I haven't tried the dill! My favorite is the salt and pepper and my husband loves the Rosemary & olive oil. ;-)

  17. Can't you increase your Daily PPV up to 29? If I recall correctly from a meeting about that a while ago, the first year of the PPV program the minimum for EVERY member was 29. So when they tweaked the program after giving it a year they realized that some members would need to drop to lower PPVs, but no one had to. You could probably add a few PPVs on, up to 29.

I know you are doing it online and they probably assigned your daily PPV automatically but I think if you go into settings you could adjust it up a little, if you need to. Just something to consider. (I'm still at 30 PPV so I haven't yet faced this dilemma!).

I'd love to hear from you! I read all of my comments, and if you have a question, I do my best to respond; sometimes, however, I get busy and forget to go back to reply, so if it's important, just email me! :)
