Okay, I haven't exactly turned 30 yet, but I did commit to something crazy today in the spirit of turning 30 in a couple of weeks. I'm going to be running my first full marathon in 18 weeks. Yes, that would be in May. Did I mention training starts this Monday?
You might remember a few days ago when I said that Jessica and I decided to wait until next spring to run our first 26.2. I was so relieved and content with that idea. And then this morning, I saw on Facebook that Jessica and Alicia threw around the idea of doing a full marathon this May. And of course I couldn't sit around while they were training and NOT do it myself. So I talked to Jessica, and she said we have to do it together--because neither of us wants to do our long training runs alone!
The marathon we'll be running is the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon in Cleveland, OH. My only goal is to finish, without walking. It'd be nice to finish in under 5 hours, but I have no clue how I'm going to be feeling, so I don't have a time goal.
I haven't technically registered yet... it's expensive ($100) so I'm going to ask for that for my birthday :) But I'm hoping that by announcing my intentions here, I'll actually follow through with the registration. A full marathon scares the shit out of me! I keep reminding myself that The Biggest Loser contestants do it, so I certainly can do it, considering I've been running much longer than them.
I went for a run this morning where it actually felt like winter instead of spring. I love running in the cold! If you dress for it, it shouldn't be uncomfortable at all. But check this out:
See what looks like white dust on my shoulders? Yep, that's my sweat. My sweat soaked through the fleece and FROZE to the surface of it--how cool is that?! I only did three miles since I'm going to be running seven miles on Friday.
So today is Wednesday, which means "Wednesday Weigh-in"... and I surprisingly weighed exactly the same as last week, even with the pizza I ate yesterday! The last of the Cookie Butter is gone, which is a good thing (even though it makes my spirit a little sad).
I still haven't binged since before surgery. As of today, it's been 58 days! Even though I haven't binged, I've been taking little bites here and there (namely of Cookie Butter), so my goal this week is to just eat my meals and snacks as usual, without the little nibbles and spoonfuls of stuff. As we learned yesterday, a spoonful of peanut butter is 225 ish calories--yikes!
Oh, and quite a few people have asked me if I've tried Better 'N Peanut Butter. I did try it, and unfortunately, I thought it was TERRIBLE. My sister and I each took one bite and threw the jar in the trash. I do love my PB2 in lots of things, but sometimes I just need "real" peanut butter. My favorite is Smuckers Natural!
