Outtake photos from Ragnar, part 2

Finish line party on the beach!

With Ada and Andrea, enjoying a mojito while we waited for van 2

This is when they filmed the weird artsy shot for the Today Show, at the very
beginning of the piece where I'm just standing there and the camera changes angles

This guy was like the head honcho for Ragnar... he came to
chat with us while we were being interviewed by the Today Show.
The bottom of his shirt says, "Yes, I work for Ragnar. Yes, you
can be my friend." Haha! He gave us "free drink" tickets :)

Team photo at the finish line

I love this picture of Ada when she got her medal!

Rik putting my medal around my neck

This is one of my favorite photos! Rik and John

I just like this pic because I look thin ;)

Group hug! Love this pic that my brother took for me.

With Becky, my brother's girlfriend, at the finish line (I want one of those Ragnar
jackets she's wearing! They only had XXL left when I got there)

Me and Brian (my brother) at the finish line

Jerry and me--PBR never tasted so good!

This is a cool picture my brother took--he got two medals (one like mine,
and a double medal because he did another Ragnar recently.

I thought this sign was funny--at Blue Heaven restaurant

Chickens were EVERYWHERE in Key West--these little
chicks were adorable!

Jerry and me at the award ceremony

John and I were walking by this bar just before a drag show ;)

This is a video that Angela gave me. It won't be used in the film, so she thought I might like to post a behind-the-scenes video on my blog. This is during my night run, when I was going through a bad part of town. I was scared out of my mind, but so grateful that the camera crew was following me in their car, so I didn't feel SO alone. Jay, the camera guy, usually didn't respond when I talked to him, but I think he knew I was really worried, so he actually responded here. I hadn't seen a Ragnar sign, so I thought maybe I was going the wrong direction. (FYI, I say the word "shit" in this video, sorry)

Here, I was running on the sidewalk of a very busy street, and then Jay hopped out of the car and started running next to me, filming me up close--in the street! He wasn't watching where he was going, and I was worried about him getting hit by a car, so I kind of screwed up his shot by talking with him ;)

  4. LOVE the videos--I laughed out loud when you swore, and then I laughed some more at you giving direction to the camera guy. What I love about you is that you care about people and you obviously wanted to make sure he didn't get hurt!!

That picture that you think makes you look thin...well you are! ;) And please tell your brother I LOVE the shot of the medals...that's contest worthy!!

Thanks for sharing!! I'm SO geeked about the movie!!!

  6. You don't sound like what I would have expected...like I'm so used to reading your posts, I never really stopped to think about what your voice would sound like, but...in a voice line up I wouldn't have picked that. Probably doesn't make sense, and I can't explain it any better, but oh well. :) Great pictures!

  12. Awesome videos and pictures. I'm scared running around my neighborhood at night, I don't know how I would feel running at night in a place that is totally alien to me. Well done for making it through (not only the scary leg, but the entire race).

  15. The videos are awesome! I agree with the other posters.. running at night is scary enough when you're at home and you know where you are. :) Looks like a fun time regardless!

  19. Haha, I love seeing all these pics again, Katie! And I love seeing those videos, it's cool to see things from a different angle than when you're the one being recorded! I'm still hooked on your blog! ;)

  20. LOVE all the pics and the videos are fun too. For some reason I am shocked that you are the only runner in sight. I pictured ragnar having a pretty steady stream of runners at all times. I would be scared too running solo in the middle of the night in unfamiliar territory. You did awesome!!!

Just an FYI, the video links on this post are broken. So sad, I was looking forward to seeing them!

    1. I am totally clueless as to why the videos aren't working anymore! I uploaded them the same as I've uploaded lots of other videos, and they were working just fine before... Hmmm.
