Week 9 Weigh-in

I just have time for a quick weigh-in/recap of the week. As I mentioned yesterday, I saw a very nice surprise on the scale:

Hello 130's!! It has been WAY too long since I've seen the 130's (I think it was right around the time Mark was sick, so, going on two years). I was 139.5 this morning, so I am down 2 pounds this week. That surprised me, considering I just lost one pound last week; I really thought it was going to slow down, now that I'm so close to goal. But whatever happened, I'll take it! ;)

My body fat was 25.0%, so that was down by 0.7% from last week. And my waist was 26.25 inches, so that was down by 1/4-inch from last week.

I didn't do anything different this week--just the same calorie counting routine I've done for the last nine weeks. One thing I noticed is that I didn't feel the need to "drop a quick few pounds" before my boudoir shoot. I ate the same as always the day before and the day of my shoot, and it was relaxing not to have to stress over it. If I hadn't dropped weight over the past couple of months, I'm sure I would have had much more anxiety going into the photo shoot.

I tried on all of my "too small" jeans again yesterday, and was able to fit into a couple more. Now, I think I just have about five pairs that I need to be at goal to wear. I also tried on several pairs that I'd been avoiding wearing because they'd gotten too big. That's such a great feeling! I was able to get rid of eight pairs that were too big to wear. I really need to go through all the shirts in my closet, too, but I'll save that for another day!

Anyway, like I mentioned yesterday, I'm not sure how much I'll be writing between now and Monday. Is anyone going to the Detroit Marathon/Half-Marathon on Sunday? Jerry and I will be there, walking the International Half. Good luck if you're racing this weekend!

  7. Congrats Katie! I just got to the 140s this week as well. :) All of my too-small clothes made me feel bad that I couldn't fit into them for so long that I got rid of most of them -- now I really wish I had smaller jeans and things to try on. Keep it up!

  8. Good luck to you and Jerry on your half! I'll be doing the Gulf Coast Half down in Louisiana on Sunday! This is my 3rd half, and the first time going in that I feel prepared and am not nervous at all! Hopefully we all have beautiful weather and great races!!!

  11. Awesome work! Can I ask how many calories you average per day and your average calories burned through exercise?

  12. Congratulations!!! That must feel amazing! What is your goal weight? What will you change when you get there?

I saw the 140's a couple weeks ago for the first time in ages (except for right after I gave birth six months ago -- I get really skinny while pregnant) and it was amazing... and then I immediately went out and sabotaged myself. I've been better this week so I'm hoping I might see the 140's again on Monday, my weigh-in day. That would be amazing.

Any suggestions on how to not self sabotage???

  14. I am doing the Detroit half this weekend also! I just wanted to tell you that you are one of the reasons I started running. I found your blog to be so inspiring. I started off not being able to run for more than a minute and now I have run 5.5 miles without stopping. (I am doing the half in a run/walk method) Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your story. It makes is seem possible. I have lost 57 pounds with about 60 more to go. Great job working on getting back to goal!!

  15. Congratulations on the good weigh-in. I will be watching the Detroit Marathon, on Riverside Drive in Windsor. My son (#11536), grandson (#11537), and daughter (#11827) are running. I will be watching for you (what is your number?). I hope to see you there. You have been a real inspiration to me. I think it was on Spark People that I first read one of your blogs. Thank you and continued success.
