The Reveal

For those of you that were curious what it is that I made, I've posted a page called "Gockets" here on my blog where you can check it out ;)  I'm a little nervous about this, but we'll see what happens!  If you like it, awesome, but PLEASE do not feel obligated to buy one! And don't worry, I'm not going to keep talking about it on here, because I have no plans of turning this into a crafting blog.
For the explanation, check out the "Gockets" page

It's freezing outside today! I spent the morning cutting up some jeans, and I was hunched over for a couple of hours. When I stood up, I could barely straighten my back. I'm thinking that is just a preview of what is to come after my body lift! I was really stiff, so I decided to go for a run outside. I wore pants and a t-shirt, but my arms were so cold that I was shivering for the first mile and a half. The wind was blowing right in my face, and I decided to cut the run short--I was thinking of doing 5 miles, but ended up at 3.35.

I know today isn't a weigh-in day for me, but when I got on the scale this morning, I was 147.5! That is the lowest it's been in at least a month. Wednesday, I was 150.5. I always seem to jinx myself when I talk about my diet on my blog, but weight loss is really the major point of my blog, so I probably should talk about it.

I haven't been counting! When I got home from Arizona, I felt so much relief that I didn't have to worry about fitting into that bridesmaid's dress, that I decided to relax a little. I wasn't consciously trying to eat "intuitively" or "only healthy foods" or anything like that. I wasn't really consciously trying to do ANYTHING.

THIS, right now, is the way I want to live the rest of my life (as far as food and exercise go). Not obsessing, not overthinking, not counting every little calorie--just living like a normal person!  This obviously isn't a "new" revelation to me--I'm just going to take it one day at a time for now ;)

Ohmygoodnessgracious, I just got an e-mail from the Dr. Oz show! They asked for before and after photos. They are filming a weight loss show next week. How cool would it be to FINALLY get my "after" photo with Dr. Oz?! (They haven't chosen me yet, so don't get excited or anything! It looks like it was sent to all people that wrote the show as a weight loss success story).

  7. HOLY CRAPPER!!! They better pick you for Dr. Oz!! You so deserve it and that would be such a great reward for you! Hurry up, put it in your Gocket!!! =) Btw, can't wait to get mine!! I am taking an online nutrition class, and I seriously just wrote on the discussion board today that I am finally figuring out what the balance is of making healthy food choices and exercising regularly. I'm still tracking my calories at this point, not ready to stop that yet, but it's my new normal, and it's not so bad. =)

  12. If you do have more contact with Dr. Oz' people, you should tell them about Gockets. He had a bracelet that said "Just 10" which is a visual reminder of how important losing just 10 pounds are to your health. Your idea makes your goals a visual reminder, because like "they" say "Outta sight, outta mind." GOOD LUCK!

  13. P.S. You need to add "I will earn the money for my surgery" in your Gocket!

  14. Ok...I broke down yesterday and purchased a scale that shows the body fat percentage, etc...I am so appaulled. So starting today, I am going to try to make healthier choices this week. Try to get back on the dreadmill (I ran a half marathon in Sept, only lost 5 pounds and already gained it back). You are my inspiration. Please forgive me if I spend hours going through your blog and commenting on every post ;)

    Thanks for being an inspiration.

Now I'm going to check out the gocket page and see if I want to order one of what appears to be a key chain made out of jeans pockets?

  19. @♥ astor

I'll ship anywhere! (Unless I get to the post office and it's going to cost me a small fortune, but I'm sure it'll be fine).

    I'm glad you like them!

  20. Yay Katie, I'm so excited for you about the Dr. Oz show! That's awesome and I will be crossing my fingers and praying that it happens for you! Also good job on losing weight and not having to monitor everything! I hope it continues to work well for you so you can live like a "normal" person does! I ordered my gocket and I am really excited and I'm hoping to buy a couple more for Christmas presents! I agree that if you get on the Dr. Oz show you need to talk about them because I'm sure there are a ton of people that would love to order them!

  21. I meant WHEN you get on the Dr. Oz show :)

  22. I love them and will be ordering! The magnet is a great idea. I work out of my house and next to my computer monitor on the wall is a huge magnetic white board. I plan to put mine on the board so that it is always there for me to see and think about my goals. And the fact that you are such an inspiration and this comes from you will be a reminder that I CAN do it!
